IRVINE, CA, UNITED STATES, September 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — MUSE Microscopy™, Inc., a pioneer in slide-free, tissue-to-digital pathology, today announced the appointment of Ben W. Davis, M.D., founder of PathGroup and current member of the PathGroup Board of Directors, to the MUSE Board of Directors. Dr. Davis brings extensive clinical, entrepreneurial, and national laboratory leadership experience as MUSE advances the development and commercialization of its SmartPath MUSE Technology™ (SmartPath) platform.

Dr. Davis founded PathGroup in 1996 and served as its longtime Chief Executive Officer, helping build the organization into a national provider of anatomic, clinical, molecular, and digital pathology services. PathGroup now serves more than 250 hospitals and health systems, as well as thousands of physician groups and surgery centers. His experience scaling a physician-led diagnostics organization is directly aligned with MUSE’s opportunity to introduce a new tissue-imaging workflow to pathologists, laboratories, and health systems.

“Dr. Davis is one of the few leaders in American pathology who has seen the diagnostic enterprise from every vantage point—as a physician, laboratory operator, founder, chief executive, and board leader. He understands what pathologists need, what health systems require before adopting new technology, and what it takes to build the infrastructure and commercial discipline necessary to scale. As MUSE moves from technical achievement into clinical validation and broader market execution, his perspective will be invaluable.” — Matthew Nuñez, Chief Executive Officer, MUSE Microscopy

As a director, Dr. Davis will advise MUSE on corporate governance, clinical and laboratory workflow integration, commercialization, health-system adoption, strategic partnerships, and responsible operating scale. His participation will help ensure that MUSE’s strategy remains grounded in the practical needs of pathologists and laboratory leaders.

“Breakthrough technology creates opportunity, but disciplined governance and operating judgment determine whether that opportunity becomes an enduring company. Ben has spent decades translating scientific progress into trusted diagnostic services at scale. His experience will sharpen our priorities, strengthen our governance, and help MUSE move into its next phase with purpose and discipline.” — Gary Fudge, Chairman of the Board, MUSE Microscopy
