The milestone reflects the organization’s ongoing growth, fueled by capacity building, partnerships and a commitment to delivering the “last mile” of eye care.
BALTIMORE, MD, UNITED STATES, August 25, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — KeraLink International (KLI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to making vision care affordable and accessible, today announced it has surpassed four million lives impacted, marking a significant milestone in its mission to expand access to quality eye care and build stronger, more sustainable vision care systems around the world.
The milestone reflects decades of work and remarkable acceleration in recent years. The organization has made impact on nearly three million lives since January 2025, demonstrating the organization’s rapid growth through strategic partnerships, expanded programs, and an increased focus on delivering the “last mile” of eye care.
“KeraLink’s mission has always been about creating lasting change, not by simply delivering services, but by building systems that empower communities to care for their own vision health,” said CEO of KeraLink International, Michelle Bockman. “Reaching four million lives impacted is an incredible milestone, but what matters most is what those numbers represent: children who can see clearly in the classroom, adults who can work and care for their families, and local eye care professionals equipped to serve their communities and impact countless more lives for decades to come.”
Unlike many vision programs that conclude after screenings, KeraLink works alongside local partners to ensure people receive the care they need after a diagnosis. By strengthening referral pathways, supporting access to prescription eyewear and helping partners move from screening to fulfillment, the organization transforms vision screening into meaningful, long-term outcomes.
At the same time, KeraLink continues to invest heavily in capacity building, creating sustainable impact that extends well beyond individual programs. To date, the organization has helped provide training to more than 800 eyecare professionals worldwide, including screeners, ophthalmologists, and surgeons, equipping local providers with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to identify, treat, and prevent avoidable vision loss within their own communities.
The organization is only continuing to build momentum. During the first half of 2026 alone, KeraLink impacted more than 888,000 lives, and projects reaching approximately 1.6 million people by the end of the year, representing more than 20 percent growth since 2025.
As the organization works to broaden its reach, it has significantly expanded its geographic footprint to meet growing global demand for accessible eye care. New countries reached over the past 12 months include Panama, Haiti, Honduras, Kenya, South Africa, Ghana, Ethiopia, Malawi, Nigeria, Uganda, Somalia, Mozambique, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Within the United States, KeraLink has also expanded programming into Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New York.
As KeraLink looks ahead, the organization remains focused on expanding access to comprehensive vision care, strengthening local healthcare infrastructure, and working with partners around the world to ensure that quality eye care reaches even the most underserved communities.
