New advisor-development platform combines CFP® continuing education, simulated client meetings, coaching, and AI-powered conversation analysis to bridge the gap between technical knowledge and client understanding.
New York, NY November 02, 2026 –(PR.com)– My Retirement Network® (MRN) today announced the upcoming launch of MRN Academy, a comprehensive advisor-development platform designed to address a persistent challenge in the financial services industry: preparing financial advisors not only to understand complex financial concepts, but to communicate them effectively in real client conversations.
Built around The Client Language Gap Method, developed by MRN founder Melissa Caro, CFP®, the Academy brings together foundational education, realistic simulated client meetings, coaching, and AI-powered analysis to help advisors develop, observe, and apply the communication skills that influence client understanding, trust, and decision-making.
While financial firms invest heavily in technical education, planning technology, and professional development, communication skills can be more difficult to teach, observe, and assess. Advisors may understand a recommendation thoroughly yet struggle to recognize when a client is confused, hesitant, overwhelmed, or reluctant to express a concern.
“Financial firms have become very good at developing technical expertise, but technical knowledge alone doesn’t prepare an advisor to lead a client conversation,” said Caro. “We built MRN Academy to make the communication behaviors that influence client understanding, trust, and decision-making visible, teachable, and measurable.”
Moving Beyond Traditional Communication Training
MRN Academy uses three complementary learning phases to help advisors move from understanding effective communication principles to recognizing and applying them in practice.
Phase 1 — Learn: Foundational Training and Coaching
Nine CFP® continuing education modules, totaling 11 CE credits, address communication challenges commonly encountered in financial advice, including listening, building trust, explaining complex financial concepts, and navigating difficult conversations. Prerecorded coaching sessions reinforce the material and encourage advisors to examine their own communication habits.
Phase 2 — Observe: Simulated Client Meetings
A distinguishing feature of MRN Academy is its library of realistic, scripted client meetings developed from years of observing advisor-client interactions and recurring behavioral patterns.
Rather than presenting isolated examples of effective communication, the simulations follow clients and advisors through evolving financial circumstances, personalities, concerns, and decisions. Alternative conversation paths demonstrate how different advisor responses can influence the direction of a meeting and the client’s understanding over time.
On-screen coaching commentary highlights subtle communication cues, missed opportunities, and alternative approaches, allowing advisors to observe interactions that might otherwise go unnoticed.
Phase 3 — Apply: AI-Powered Meeting Analysis
The Client Language Gap Analyzer extends the learning experience into advisors’ own client meetings.
Advisors can submit meeting transcripts for analysis against communication and behavioral cues, receiving feedback on missed moments, potential misunderstandings, and opportunities to respond more effectively. The platform anonymizes personally identifiable information and does not retain submitted transcripts.
By connecting education and observation with feedback on actual conversations, the Academy provides advisors with a way to evaluate and refine communication behaviors beyond the classroom.
Addressing the Advisor Readiness Challenge
The Academy is designed for financial advisory firms seeking to develop emerging advisors, strengthen client-facing capabilities, and support the transition from technical or service roles into lead-advisor responsibilities.
“Too often, an advisor’s readiness is measured by technical knowledge, years of experience, or familiarity with the planning process,” Caro added. “But knowing what to recommend and knowing how to guide a client through that recommendation are two different skills. Advisors need opportunities to see these conversations unfold, recognize the moments that matter, and understand how to respond before those skills are tested in front of clients.”
MRN Academy builds on My Retirement Network’s existing CFP® continuing education and advisor communication training, expanding that foundation into a structured, multi-format development experience.
The Academy is scheduled to launch in late November 2026.
