ISTANBUL, Sept. 2, 2026
The expertise of Opus Group, one of the world’s leading operators of vehicle inspection programs, in artificial intelligence, imaging, laser and contactless measurement technologies will be transferred into the infrastructure of Türkiye’s new vehicle inspection era, set to begin in 2027.
ISTANBUL, Sept. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Opus Group, a US-based company specializing in vehicle inspection and intelligent vehicle support systems, has begun deploying its technologies and global experience at the Vehicle Inspection Pilot Center opened in Istanbul for Türkiye’s next-generation system. Opus, which conducts around 30 million vehicle inspections worldwide each year, is one of the largest vehicle inspection program operators in the United States. As one of the partners in the new 20-year era launching under the TURKA brand on August 15, 2027, Opus is helping adapt next-generation inspection technologies and operational processes to Türkiye’s needs at the center.
With a fleet of approximately 34.5 million vehicles and an annual inspection volume of around 16 million, Türkiye is one of the world’s largest vehicle inspection markets. Under an investment program of roughly 3 billion dollars, the new system will be rolled out across 352 centers with about 900 inspection lines, underscoring the scale of the transformation into which Opus Group’s global experience will be transferred.
AI, contactless measurement and data-driven operations at the heart of the new system
Opus Group, which designs and operates vehicle inspection systems tailored to different countries’ needs, is bringing its expertise in AI-assisted image processing, sensor infrastructure, contactless measurement systems, high-resolution undercarriage imaging and data-driven operational technologies to the new system in Türkiye.
The Istanbul Pilot Center is an important proving ground for adapting these technologies to Türkiye’s new operating model, with processes developed and tested there set to be applied at the 352 centers to be established nationwide.
TURKA Board Chairman Halis Ezer said: “As we build one of the world’s largest vehicle inspection systems in Türkiye, we are drawing on the experience our international partners have gained in different markets. The technological and operational know-how Opus Group brings from its vehicle inspection programs in North America is an important part of this structure. We are designing a system supported by artificial intelligence, data analytics and digitalization to meet not only today’s vehicles but also the mobility needs of the future.”
TURKA was established by the MOI Joint Venture Group, winner of the international tender concluded in 2025. Alongside Türkiye’s MetGün Group, the consortium includes US-based Opus Group; Itversia Gestión, which operates vehicle inspection stations under European Union standards in Spain; and Argentina’s VTV Norte, which provides periodic vehicle inspection services in Buenos Aires.
The consortium brings together experience from the differing regulatory frameworks, standards and inspection systems of North America, Europe and Latin America within one of the world’s largest vehicle inspection programs, aiming to combine this international expertise with Türkiye’s needs to build one of the most modern and innovative vehicle inspection systems in the world.
