Former Oregon Music Teacher Indicted on Multiple Charges Including Rape and Kidnapping

Derek Douglas Reeder, a former music teacher at an Oregon nonprofit, has been arrested and faces multiple felony charges, including rape, sexual abuse, and kidnapping. The indictment follows an investigation launched by detectives after allegations of an inappropriate relationship between Reeder and a child he met in 2023 while teaching music at the nonprofit organization.

Reeder, who also operated a music teaching business in Oregon City, is currently being held without bail. Authorities have stated that they believe there may be additional victims. The investigation is ongoing.
